October 2019
Some families like that of Dinah in the village of Iten in Kenya, live in great precariousness and struggle to feed themselves...
During our visit to this family in 2019, we built them a chicken coop and provided them with 10 chickens.
This allowed them to develop a business selling eggs and thus generate regular income for their family.
February 2020
In February 2020, we had desks made to replace the simple boards serving as tables at Kapso primary school near Iten.
Education is very important for these children, they can now study in better conditions!
February 2020
At the beginning of 2020, we asked the school of Nazareth in Nice to write a letter to Kenyan students describing their life in France.
We gave them in February 2020 to Mbegi primary school, whose students in return presented themselves on a letter as well.
This allowed the children to exchange and discover another cultute.
Since Kenyan children do not necessarily have access to television and the Internet, it is essential that they can discover other cultures.
On the other hand, it is also important for French children who, for the majority, have everything they need to flourish in their lives, to exchange with schoolchildren from another culture whose life is very different!
March 2020
In March 2020, we decided to organize a triathlon for the children of the primary school in Kapten, Kenya.
The competition included several events such as a run, throw and high jump.
More than 200 children participated and were awarded a medal and school supplies at the end of the competition.
Very nice memory!
2019-2022
With Un espoir ensemble ici et lĂ -bas, we are committed to helping families in great difficulty. For this, we visit several families during our trips, which are selected by our contacts on site and give them clothes, shoes, games, supplies...
For example, in Kenya we visit the family of Chowchow, an 82-year-old grandmother who takes care of her 4 grandchildren following the suicide of their parents.
She lives in total autonomy with her hens, her banana trees and her water tank.
Always very enthusiastic when we see us arrive, we take great pleasure in playing with the children who are growing well over the years!
Since January 2021
During our first visit to the primary school of Mbegi, we were very saddened to see that 40% of the children did not have lunch, for lack of means. We wanted to create a food program so that each of the 200 students (at the time) could have a hot lunch and thus focus on their learning.
For this, we had to buy several kg of cereals and rice, cooking utensils, wood to cook food and transport everything to school. A water meter has also been installed to allow them to benefit from running water. Finally, we recruited a cook: Mama Piurity.
Today, the school has more than 300 students and we need you to continue this program and continue to provide meals to these children every day.
Seeing a big smile on their face once their plate is finished is our greatest reward!
Since January 2021
Faced with children forced to stop their schooling in primary school, for lack of means, we have chosen to help some of them.
Following our request, the community of Mbegi chose the 5 most needy children to enable them to continue their studies in college.
We have made them, as well as their parents, sign a letter of commitment and we remain in regular contact with them in order to monitor their results.
Since 2018
On each of our trips to Kenya or Madagascar, we make donations of clothes, shoes, accessories and school supplies.
Indeed, local people have very few clothes and shoes (often in very poor condition), and many are forced to walk several kilometers a day in tap shoes or barefoot.
Also, families often do not have the means to provide their children with the essential materials for studying (pencils, pens, notebooks, etc.)
It is very important for us to collect material donations in order to be able to bring them, as far as possible, during our travels and to distribute them directly to the village chiefs or to the villagers themselves.
Since 2016
Since our first trip to Madagascar in 2016 we have been touched by two young girls aged 15 and 17, Elinah and Avotra. They were placed in a protection center following a court decision.
We have decided to sponsor them by sending them €60 every month to help them with their studies and their daily lives.
We regularly hear from them from a distance and have returned to see them several times to keep in touch... They are very endearing and love that we take them to the KFC or to a football match!
We are committed to continuing to sponsor children to make their daily life easier and would like you too to be able to experience this experience which is more than enriching.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to sponsor one or more children, we will be happy to help you!
One of our short-term projects is to set up a library in the Mbegi school.
This structure would allow children to have a quiet space, with books available for entertainment and education.
The infrastructure would include: cupboards to store the books made available by category and a hundred books.
Estimated cost of the project: 600€
We plan to create a playground for children in the primary school of Mbegi.
This would allow children to have a dedicated and secure space for them to play and exercise.
The playground would include: a multi-seat swing, a slide, a suspension bridge, a playhouse and a basketball hoop
Estimated cost of the installation: 3000€
We wish to continue the feeding program already in place at the primary school of Mbegi but also to develop it and establish it in other schools where the meal is paid or not provided to the children.
Our long-term goal is for each child to be able to have a hot meal every lunchtime and focus on their lessons.
As a reminder :
- 5€ = 1 meal / day for 1 month for 1 child
- 10€ = 10 kg of rice = 140 meals
- 100€ = sponsorship of a college student = annual tuition fees + 50€ uniform
